Protect – Human Experience Series
We succeed or fail, imagine or ignore, and love or hate from the influences of our human experiences.
This series explores a few of life’s many experiences through sculptural expression. The work also expresses some of my artistic influencers – M.C. Escher’s perception of symmetry and Piet Mondrian’s simple abstractions. I use the geometric and architectural commonality of both artists to simplistically express my feelings through the use of the most basic design elements – straight lines and circles. In these works the straight lines expresses the emotion of a life experience and the sphere symbolizes a human perspective.
The “Protect” sculpture’s fortified composition towers up enclosing the residing sphere – providing a sense of protection and comfort.

“I grew to understand that people don’t always build walls to keep others out. There are times it is done out of a necessity to protect whatever is left within.”
